Microsoft, along with producer Peter Jackson, announced they will be developing a new type of video game to go along with their movie version of the hit game Halo. This new game will be a morphing of film and video game, to supposedly give players a new, or different, gaming experience.
All I can say is “we’ll see”. As our computers get better this morphing becomes more tantalizing, but this really isn’t even close to the first attempt to merge the two mediums. Many of today’s games have a cinematical element to them. Maybe the next Halo game will just make us have to upgrade to Windows Vista to play it…sneaky bastards.

The Good Shepherd Trailer Alert, Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, Robert De Niro
I watched The Blair Witch Project again a couple of days ago. It’s one of those films that isn’t as appealing when you watch it for the third, fourth, or fith time. The first time was frightening and new, but unlike other movies it looses that quickly. But, a great film nonetheless.
So, what’s Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez (the directors) up to today? They’ve both got films coming out soon.
Myrick’s got Solstice (official site here) in post-production. Solstice is a horror flick with the logline “A young girl uncovers a disturbing secret about her twin sister, who committed suicide just a few months before.” The only release date so far is June 21, 2007 in the Netherlands (yes, it’s in English). Solstice is actually a remake of Midsommer, a Danish flick (no surprise). It stars Elisabeth Harnois.
Sanchez recently completed Altered (site here). Altered is a thriller about “Fifteen years ago, a group of men’s lives were forever changed by a strange occurrence. Now, the same group of men will spend a night together … in terror.” Basically, five men are abducted by aliens and one of them killed. They manage to later capture one of these aliens, and the thriller begins. No release date yet, but there have been some screenings already (to mixed reviews) so it should be soon.
So there you go…in case you were wondering.
