Kirk In Next Star Trek
posted by narc under Sequels, Sci-Fi, 6:38 pm, no comments

I just got Mission Impossible 3 in the mail today from my favorite movie-by-mail rental program, and the only reason why I want to watch it is to form an opinion on JJ Abrams as a director. Why? Well, because I’m a fan of Star Trek and would like to see more Trek films in the future. If JJ messes the next Star Trek up, it may be a while before we get another.

Anyway, JJ Abrams did announce that James T. Kirk will be appearing in his Star Trek film. Of course that doesn’t mean a lot because we don’t really know what it means. Is this a young Kirk? Is this the return of Shatner somehow? Is it a secondary role?

I don’t know about that, only that he better not mess it up.

Supposedly the title of Indiana Jones for is….get ready…Indiana Jones and the City of the Gods.

Sounds believable enough. But I’m calling BS.

Here, to quench your Indy thirst until he arrives again:

I just wrote about the future of Michael Bay if the Transformers flops, which is pretty much inconceivable. Well, Michael Bay already has another job so he doesn’t need to worry, and that’s to direct the film version of the video game Prince of Persia…so maybe he should worry.

A video game movie directed by Michael Bay? Is this doomed to fail, or do two wrongs (1 - another video game film, 2 - another Michael Bay film) actually make a right? The Prince of Persia is a popular game, but so were countless others turned into horrible movies. Turning video games into movies is a trend that won’t end, let’s face it. Fans of the games go to the movies, cha-ching.
