The original Wicker Man was cool for its occult storyline and influences (a must see for fans of the occult), and it’s certainly an interesting choice for a movie to remake. There’s a trailer for the new, Nicholas Cage starring, Wicker Man over at Apple.
The remake looks more overtly dark than the original. I remember the first Wicker Man as suggesting the island was inhabited by a more peaceful cult tied closely to nature (that is, until the final scene). But this version seems to suggest an evil and Satanic cult relatively early (unless that’s just the editing of the trailer).
If you haven’t seen the original Wicker Man, go rent it. It’s interesting, and then you can decide for yourself how the remake compares.

The trailer for Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center is on Apple’s Quicktime site. The film looks quite powerful. It won’t delve into any conspiracy theories, the wounds are probably too fresh.
